Keep Going
Fire, February 2018 |
The freezing cold
which makes the Earth lethargic
and prepares the dawning of Spring
settles in my heart too.
which makes the Earth lethargic
and prepares the dawning of Spring
settles in my heart too.
Icy blue grips the air,
complicates moving hands and feet,
weakens to solidity the vital breath.
complicates moving hands and feet,
weakens to solidity the vital breath.
I feel sad,
because I am alone
without being alone.
because I am alone
without being alone.
I am tired
because each and every effort
is in vain.
because each and every effort
is in vain.
I am sad
because tiredness
doesn’t give up.
because tiredness
doesn’t give up.
I am tired and sad
because the ice in my heart
prevents it from beating.
because the ice in my heart
prevents it from beating.
Daring in the mind
a vision of a hideout is dancing,
of quitting the path once started
which now insists on becoming
a permanent challenge.
a vision of a hideout is dancing,
of quitting the path once started
which now insists on becoming
a permanent challenge.
The wind picks up, the ice progresses.
Feet are still, breath stops.
Feet are still, breath stops.
To face the icy wind,
a hat on
and aim the prow
to the cold north wind.
a hat on
and aim the prow
to the cold north wind.
First you move a foot forward,
then the other one,
breathe,
repeat.
then the other one,
breathe,
repeat.
It is true: I am
tired and sad,
but even more:
tired of being sad.
tired and sad,
but even more:
tired of being sad.
So, now
I stare the world in the eyes,
smile among tears,
breathe,
first a foot forward,
then the other one,
breathe,
repeat.
I stare the world in the eyes,
smile among tears,
breathe,
first a foot forward,
then the other one,
breathe,
repeat.
First one foot,
then the other one,
breathe,
repeat.
then the other one,
breathe,
repeat.
And I keep going.
