Sunrise After a Dark Night

Albolafia (Waterwheel) and Roman Bridge in Córdoba (Spain), April 2014

Just like in the beginning.
Damned eternal return,
paralyzing the flow of feelings
to speed up the flow of reason.
A return that takes me away
from the path my soul chose.
That, just like that, blocks me,
pushes me aside,
segregates me.
Why this exam
over and over again?
Why this repeated sadness
of knowing where I can be
but being unable to act though?
Dead in my tracks, inane.
Why show me paradise,
if I am not allowed to get in?
Why let me have a look,
if I won’t be allowed to stay?
So that you are aware
of the awaiting reward.
Keep your patience,
don’t let anything derail you,
don’t miss a thing.
Everything makes sense,
everything on its own time.
Everything is
like it should be,
when it should be,
where it should be.
And you shall go on,
even ignoring
how and when and where
because you know,
you are certain
with whom.
