Ties

Casa Batlló, Barcelona (Spain), August 2018

Ties so tight you strain.
Love so deep you hurt.
Tied by love, loved in ties.
But
true love doesn’t hurt,
true love doesn’t tie,
true love is not strained.

True love is but a bond for eternity,
a pledge for togetherness,
a vow of being two but one,
an oath of belonging,
a plan to sail in the same winds,
even in opposite directions.
Love is no tie,
love is a bond for lives,
love ties us to life,
though moving us along.
Life is a loving bond;
love is our bond, our vow,
our oath, our pledge to live
and leave a better world behind.
