Flowers in the Fall

Blossoming at home. Puçol (València, Spain), September 2019

Summer draught weakens the earth,
dormant life patiently awaiting
the comeback of a softness longed for.
Plentiful rains threaten
with floods and desert
the gentle expectant soil.
With the warm sunlight of the Fall
life, awake at last from its slumber,
tiptoes back to the sleeping nature.
Flowers in a barren land,
messengers of a future
fruitful and lively, colorful and fresh:
new life is on its way.
