Drowned Heart

Puçol (València, Spain), January 2020

An endless sea drowns
my wounded heart,
a far horizon is calling.
The gray in the sky
brings out my tears,
wrings the air
out of my lungs.
Light of the Mediterranean Sea,
do get me, please, out of here,
take me wherever air
and light
calmly become
my whole being.
