Game

Image
A garden in Valencia, Spain, September 2018 Life is a game, so it seems. Sometimes life throws a curve ball, one you are not able to catch, sometimes the ball is pitched right into your hands. The game is different now: it is me the game which is played. A frisbee, thrown away soaring through the air to be caught and thrown again, to be just missed, too, to disappear on the ground. It seems, now is the time to lay low, flat down where no one can see what the bright happy colors on the surface are hiding away from unwilling eyes. Sometimes I feel like game for life, however, I keep a smile, I am game for it.

About a Bout

Image
Sagrada Familia, Barcelona (Spain), August 2018 A sudden bout of bone-crushing loneliness, an unstoppable surge of desolate energy, let the room disappear freezing on its wake my heart to a crushing point. Nothing feels the same, although nothing has changed. Breathing heavy, more pant than breath. Unable to move, unwilling to embrace routine, no escape in sight, no hope, no light, no will to fight. Drowning in sadness, unwilling to raise my head above this swamp of loneliness while surrounded by people. Longing for a respite to regroup and find the energy to seek the light of my days.

Lines

Image
Sunset in the Sagrada Familia, Barcelona (Spain), August 2018 A spotlight marks the goal, another moves in its direction from the entrance to the scene. Myriads of lights draw with a firm hand the destiny of humans. Encased in a body, the soul moves, hesitatingly at first, on the luminescent line of destiny. Like a novice tightrope walker the body tries to walk steady on the light-marked line, its steps evolving from shy to a spirited dance. Feeling at last sure on the tightrope it goes back and forth and jumps and cartwheels and leaves the line... to head again, even unwillingly, to the goal under the spotlight. The body regains this way the path light-marked by universe and soul, carefully propelled by the heart which gives a purpose to life.
