A Riddle

Mas La Plana (Santa Maria d'Oló, Spain), May 2017
Who am I?
Easy question,
automatic answer:
It’s me.
Follow up:
Who is that “me”?
And the answer slides away,
slippery even to the thought.
I am
a philologist, a translator, a teacher;
I am
a son a brother, a father;
I am
a man, a person, a soul.
Big words,
deceitful polysyllables,
just shielding someone away
who is just playing
with words and sounds.
Someone
who aims to create small universes
in which,
gracious and lite,
a soul can fly
without constrictions,
content and free.
